BA (Oxford) MSc PhD (Sheffield)

Reader in Mathematics, University of Sussex

I am a member of the Department of Mathematics at the University of Sussex , and also a member of the Centre for the Study of Evolution at the University of Sussex.

Research

My main research interest is the application of game theory to the mathematical modelling of biological populations, in particular using the concept of Evolutionarily Stable Strategies (ESSs).

I am currently supervising two research students: Carole Becker (jointly with Qi Tang) and Martin Harrison. I am particularly keen to supervise research students in one of the projects described in Research project, or in any of the areas listed in Research interests.

Conference

I am organizing the conference Mathematical Models in Evolution and Ecology to be held here at Sussex on 20-21 September 2007

Lecture Courses

I am giving the following lecture course in the academic year 2007/2008.
